Time & Location

Bridge Farm Community, Glenfrome Rd, Bristol BS16 1BQ, UK
About the event
This is a four hour butchery session where you will be taught skinning, gutting, and butchering a rabbit carcass. We will discuss ethical meat, roadkill protocol + hygiene, and tanning basics. Suitable for complete beginners, folks who are nervous but curious, vegetarians wanting to return to meat, and folks looking to shake the rust off their own butchery practice.
The purpose of this class is to get first-timers comfortable with handling and breaking down a carcass, and to stimulate conversations around food security and sovereignty. You will go home with all the meat you butcher and the rabbit hide!
Please bring along;
A small, sharp knife (sharpen it the night before, you’ll enjoy the butchery much more). Kitchen paring knifes and Opinels are great.
A Tupperware or plastic bag to bring the meat home in
A small lunch or snack
